LIVING WELL: BEATING THE ODDS

On today's show we're speaking to guests who are shining examples of perseverance, struggling with hardships and learning how to move on. In 1988, Harold was involved in one of the worst car accidents in US history. Traveling on a bus with 66 other people, the bus collided with a fuel tanker. The crash killed 27 of the passengers and Harold suffered 3rd degree burns all over his body. Even though the crash was 20 years ago, Harold still suffers from the physical and emotional scars. Lorri's daughter Taryn was battling an eating disorder. After years of hiding it from her mother, the two are working through the pain and developing a closer mother/daughter bond. Joseph has been raising his sister's children as his own because she doesn't have the means to provide for them. In addition to that, his own son, Chris, has Spina Bifida. Joseph has given up a lot of his personal life to be a role model for his family.
